The Dallas Cowboys coaching staff is holding its breath awaiting MRI results of rookie wide receiver Dez Bryant's ankle. Bryant reportedly injured his ankle on the second to last play of today's practice in San Antonio.
The Cowboys already expect the first-round pick to miss time, according to David Moore of the Dallas Morning News.
Cowboys cornerback Orlando Scandrick said Bryant rolled his ankle and will "be all right."
But Bryant didn't appear OK. He reportedly had to be carried off the field after the injury, caused after colliding with Scandrick.
Vice president Stephen Jones said the training staff had a pretty good idea what the injury is, but declined to discuss it until it's confirmed by the MRI. He did say the team's first round pick will miss time.
"I think they have a pretty good feel for what happened, but I'd be guessing right now a little bit,'' Jones said when asked to give a timetable as to how long Bryant could be out. "It would be unfair to say."
"If he has to miss time, we hate that, but we'll work through it.''
