It was through Alisa Fleming’s wonderful site Go Dairy Free that I happened upon an advertisement for Dairy Free Market. I was glad I did as I appreciate the site’s clean design and one-stop shopping concept. Dairy Free Market is the only site I have ever seen that allows you to shop not only by brand but also by product and lifestyle. A kosher vegan with a nut allergy who is looking for a cheese alternative does not have to shop multiple sites. You can meet your dietary needs in one place. The site is designed so that you can shop “free” of gluten, egg, nut, soy, milk, potato and sugar. The practicality of this site also increases buyer safety, making it so much easier for the allergic consumer to know exactly what he or she is getting.
Jeff Eder is the founder of Dairy Free Market. Eder personally has dairy and potato intolerances, which he discovered through blood testing. Since giving up baked products containing dairy and traditional (milk-based) ice cream he feels “much much better”. Eder not only has food intolerances but also a passion to provide “something meaningful”. The site also offers a “Connect and Learn” page for all of us allergy-free peeps to get together or learn more. Jeff envisions his site as a meeting point for his eclectic customers whether they are “peanut moms”, bloggers, raw foodists, kosher, vegans or just the lactose intolerant.
Dairy Free Market is especially valuable to allergic folks who are too busy to run to Whole Foods or to those living in rural areas who don’t have the luxury of organic grocers or upscale health food stores. Cherrybrook Kitchen, Enjoy Life and Road’s End Organics are some of the site’s most popular brands. The site’s most loved products include Parma (Raw Parmesan cheese alternative), Suzanne's Ricemellow Creme (it’s an allergy-free “Fluffernutter”) and Eder’s personal favorite NuGo Bars.
What I also love about this site is the availability of baking mixes and ingredients if you are more of a do-it-yourselfer. Mmm . . . donuts. Yes, they sell Little Bay Baking Co. Waffle & Donut Hole Mix. Your inner Homer Simpson will rejoice. Dairy Free Market offers free (ground) shipping on orders over $100 (to anywhere in the US) and 10% off any order just enter the following code: GODAIRYFREE.
