Former Talking Heads front man David Byrne, whose recently released Bicycle Diaries is a favorite among the bicylerati, will be in Philadelphia February 4, 2010 as part of a special Urban Sustainability Forum.
Joining Byrne will be experts in urban sustainability, discussing the utilitarian and aesthetic potential of bicycle travel. A current New Yorker, Byrne has traveled extensively in home city and major urban areas worldwide.
Those interested in learning more about the politics and aesthetics of bicycling as a means of sustainability should check out this event. Talking Heads fans may be intrigued as well.
The program will be held at the Academy of Natural Sciences, 19th and the Parkway. A reception beginning at 6:00 PM will be followed by the 2 hour program at 6:30 PM.
