It’s been a busy summer at Baltimore Bike Works. Firmly established as a commuter bicycle shop, Baltimore Bike Works is expanding its inventory to embrace avid or competitive road riders. In July, they added Orbea bikes to their shop line up, and each weekend the shop offers road rides. See the shop’s website for specific dates and times.
If you haven’t heard of Baltimore Bike Works, it is located on a quiet section of Falls Road in Station North, a few blocks away from the Charles Theater and Penn Station. Recreational cyclists and commuters can easily roll up to the shop on the Jones Falls Trail.
Many customers are drawn to Baltimore Bike Works for its full-service capabilities. On site expert mechanics can diagnosis and repair any mechanical issue, from flat tires to drive train overhauls. The shop sells new and used bicycles of all styles and sizes, including mountain bikes, touring bikes, and youth bikes.
This spring Baltimore Bike Works added Brompton Bicycles to their commuter bike line. These bikes are truly amazing—they fold up in a snap. If you’ve been thinking about commuting to work on a bike, but don’t like the bulkiness of a bike in your office or on the train, these bikes are a solution to this problem. Plus, they’re really comfortable and super durable, which you might not expect from a folding bike.
Baltimore Bicycle Works can also offer customers hand crafted, custom bicycle frames. Nash Cycles custom frames are crafted right at Baltimore Bicycle Works, giving customers the opportunity to see each stage of their bicycle’s creation. Interested in having your own one-of-a-kind bicycle? You can consult with Tommy Nash, who is at the shop full time.
Visit Baltimore Bike Works at 1813 Falls Road, Baltimore, MD 21201. Shop hours are Tuesday through Saturday 11am to 7pm, Sunday 11am to 5pm, and closed on Mondays.
