On January 30, 2009, the de Vere White family opened de Vere's Irish Pub in downtown Sacramento and it looks to be a great place to hang your hat, sip a pint of ale and relax. De Vere's is an authentic Irish Pub designed by the family back in Ireland. After immigrating to the United States 28 years ago looking for better opportunities the de Vere's moved around the country and finally settled in Sacramento in 1984. The family wanted to create the Irish experience here in the city that had been so good to their family. They have filled the restaurant with Irish antiques and family memorabilia to create the essence of the Irish Isles. T
hey even put a picture of grandma on the wall. Simon de Vere is sitting next to the family portrait in the picture to the left.
The interior is warm and inviting filled with beautiful hardwoods, plush cushions on the chairs and many of the family's paintings adorn the walls creating a warm and inviting atmosphere to the restaurant. They provide traditional Irish fare (Traditional Irish Stew, Lamb Lollypops and much more) as well as pub snacks, sandwiches and burgers. From full dinners, small fare to just "This n' That", there is plenty to choose from on the menu.
One of the specialties is a pint of Guinness "poured to perfection...in an imperial pint, curved and shaped to fit in the palm of your hand." De Vere's looks to be a great place to spend time with friends and enjoy a Lamb Slider or two.

De Vere's offers entertainment at different times of the year, and yes, this includes a St. Patrick's Day party. On every 1st and 3rd Sundays, Griffin (Hot Irish) hosts a traditional Irish session starting at 4 p.m. For more information on coming events, view their website. The holiday season is here, take a break from shopping, stop by and give your feet a break, enjoy your favorite drink and relax by the cozy fire.
