Casting Announced for A Christmas Carol at Garden Theatre of Winter Garden

Each Christmas season brings Orlando sackful of "A Christmas Carol", with seemingly every theater in town producing their own spin on Dickens' seasonal chestnut. You may have seen enough versions over the years that you'd rather have a stake of holly driven through your heart than sit through another. But the show coming this year to Garden Theater might just be worth the trip out west toWinter Garden.  It's being presented by Fringe Festival producer Beth Marshall, and directed by prolific local auteur (and my artistic partner) John DiDonna. They've just announced the full cast and crew list, and it's full of heavy hitters from the local drama community, starting with fantastic film actor Dennis Neal

Here's the full details for your perusal:

And if you're itching to get involved with the theater as more than just an audience member, the Garden Theatre is looking for volunteers.  The theater, a vintage showplace that was recently restored to its original glory after years of disrepair, is a gem of the community and well worth your time.

The next Volunteer Orientation sessions at the Garden Theatre (160 West Plant Street) will be held on:

Saturday, September 18 from 11am-12:30pm
Monday, September 20 from 6-7:30pm
Thursday, September 30 from 6-7:30pm

These sessions will provide background on theatre history and operations, as well as on volunteer roles for any community members interested in becoming more involved with the theatre.

The Garden Theatre is seeking individuals who have an interest in volunteering for the 09-10 live performance season in the concession area, taking tickets, ushering, and a variety of other activities. High school students needing community service hours can also fulfill their requirements with this volunteer opportunity. Volunteers ages 15 and up are welcome. Volunteers are invited to watch the performance for free on the night they volunteer.

Interested individuals can RSVP for one of the orientations by emailing volunteer@gardentheatre.org.
