Want to know how some of our favorite stars will be celebrating Turkey Day this year? Here’s some of the buzz found on the Internet:

Giving Back

Expect several stars to spend the day serving Thanksgiving dinner to the homeless at the Los Angeles Mission on Skid Row. Celebrities who have donned red aprons and helped in the past include A-list stars like Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, Cindy Crawford, Jennifer Love-Hewitt, Ben Affleck, Minnie Driver, David Arquette, Matt Damon, and Tyler Perry. Legendary actor Kirk Douglas and his wife Anne, who have been longtime supporters of the charity, host the event every year. Mind you, Mr. Douglass is in his 90s and still finds a way to give back. We could all learn a little something from his giving spirit.

Other famous faces like Glenn Close, Marcia Gay Harden, Joe Pantoliano, Joan Rivers, James Taylor, Nancy Pelosi, and Melissa d'Arabian, winner of last season's The Next Food Network Star, participated in the Celebrity Thanksgiving Comfort Food Challenge hosted by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP). The Comfort Food Challenge is a promotional campaign designed to bring awareness to the organization’s National Survivors of Suicide Day program. Each celebrity posted a favorite Thanksgiving recipe on Facebook, where fans could vote for their favorite. The winner was supposed to be announced November 20, but as of print time, there was no notification of the winner on the AFSP website. Facebook results, however, show Joan Rivers currently in the lead with 65 of 223 votes.

Supporting our Troops

Soccer great David Beckham and his LA Galaxy teammates will spend Thanksgiving with US troops in their barracks as part of a goodwill morale-boosting visit to the Kaiserslautern Military Community in Germany. The stop includes visiting with military families and playing a soccer game against the local team.

Miss USA 2009 Kristen Dalton will also spend Thanksgiving with military families at Fort Drum Installation Base in New York State.

This just in: Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band are spending the week with troops in Afganistan.  They are among several celebrities who will be spending the holidays with troops who are away from their families.  Joining that group is Michael T. Williams, the actor who played "Bubba" in Forrest Gump.  It's a fitting tribute to those who serve.

Las Vegas Mentions

On the home front, superstar Beyonce will host her own Thanksgiving special on ABC titled Beyonce… I Am Yours. The special will show clips from Beyonce’s Las Vegas performance last August, as well as unseen footage of the singer's life off stage and moments from her childhood.

So few places really offer a lot on Thanksgiving. This is great.
