As we finished commemorating Earth Day, one of the DFW metroplex's popular annual events is in the City of Euless. They put on Arbor Daze as an annual family celebration with food, entertainment, arts and crafts, educational programs about energy conservation, farmer's market, and the giveaway of free trees. This year's free tree giveaway is sponsored by the Fort Worth Community Credit Union. Held on Saturday, April 24th and Sunday, April 25th there will be a lot of activities for the family and admission and parking is FREE! The event will be held at 201 N. Ector Drive or the City Hall Complex.
According to Arbor-Day.net, President Richard Nixon commemorated the last Friday in April as National Arbor Day. It's also celebrated on that day in Texas with Texas' official state tree being the Pecan. This site as well as the Arbor Day Foundation provide great information on caring for your trees as well as how to get new ones.
