Family Activities at CityArts

The Prudential Children’s Area and Art exhibit will be in the Centennial Building with arts, crafts, interactive art, storytelling, and demonstrations.

* Quiggly's Clayhouse, Inc. will provide 10 pottery wheels for children to try out.

* Big Thought will host a children's art exhibit, sponsored by Prudential, featuring works by Dallas ISD students participating in its Thriving Minds After-School program.

* Big Thought also will offer a booth with hands-on activities and showcase performances by local youth.

* "Young Picassos" children's arts and crafts Area where children will be able to create Mother's Day cards, kites, hats, and paper flower bouquets.

* Create Your Own Masterpiece with Sofia Art Academy

Saturday

Continuous instruction from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. including painting on wood, still life drawings, easel art painting, and live model drawings.
Special Demonstrations and Workshops:
Caricature drawings: 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
Sketch drawing: 3 p.m. - 4 p.m.

Sunday
Continuous instruction 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. including painting on wood, still life drawings, easel art painting, and live model drawings

Special Demonstrations and Workshops:
Mommy & Me Wood Painting 12 noon - 1 p.m.
Monotype art 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.

Also in the Prudential Children’s Area, interactive encounters with: Dallas Contemporary, Dallas Museum of Art, Dallas Public Library, Dallas Summer Musicals, Japan-American Society of DFW, Texas Discovery Gardens, The Women’s Museum and the YMCA.

Outdoor children's activities will include bounce houses, bungee jump trampolines, rock climbing walls, and other revelry to keep kids amused.

The art exhibit and Time Warner Cable Family Stage will stay open all weekend including Friday – the rest of the indoor children’s area will be open till 6 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
