Jacquelin received her B.A. (Music) from Barnard College and her M.A. (African area studies/Ethnomusicology) from U.C.L.A. As curator for the Smithsonian Festival of American Folklife's "Musics of Struggle" program, she presented musicians and the issues inspiring them, garnering a Grammy nomination for their SONY Records release. Life in Charlotte led to curatorial work for Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival and travel to Brisbane, Australia as manager for North Carolina folk artists. Email her at sidhomes@aol.com.
