Obama takes a Presidential smoke break.
On Monday President Barack Obama signed the Family Smoking Prevention & Tobacco Control Act, but how is his personal quest to stop smoking coming? Does he walk the talk or is this one a don't ask, don't tell issue?
The new law empowers the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to oversee and regulate all tobacco products that are sold in the United States. The legislation encompasses several areas and focuses specifically on the way tobacco products are developed, purchased, marketed or advertised, and labeled. The act is unprecedented and the U.S. government has never had so great a hand in the oversight of the tobacco industry as it will now.
So, now big tobacco corporations will continue expanding their international marketing strategies. They are more regulated in the USA, especially in their marketing to young people, so they'll continue to sell their poison abroad. Another of the fine US exports along with our largest export, military weaponry. Isn't it time we start to focus our massive spending and exporting on livingry – things that support life rather than deter life?
May we all recognize the true nature of our actions. And may all people experience health, happiness and abundance.

It's time for Obama to set an example for our children and give up smoking.

IT AINT'T FUN SMOKIN JUST TO HURT OUR LUNGS.
PEOPLE WHO SMOKE ARE HURTING THEIR LUNG AOTOMATICLY
In between fielding questions dealing with the unrest in Iran, the fate of the economy, and the perils of global warming, President Obama in a White House press conference that he still smokes occasionally, and that it is an ongoing battle. "As a former smoker, I constantly struggle with it," said Obama. "Have I fallen off the wagon with it? Yes."The sweeping new legislation passed yesterday giving the FDA authority to regulate tobacco was a major step in protecting children. Obama has said he got hooked on cigarettes as a teenager, and as he signed the bill in the White House Rose Garden yesterday, he said "The decades-long effort to protect our children from the harmful effects of tobacco has emerged victorious." That should be the story, not Obama's own struggle with nicotine. He is, after all, a role model for children. Why complicate the issue?

smoking is a time honoured tradition, its no more dangerous than driving, and its hard enough as it is, the prices are skyrocketing, and this fool slithers in and uses this to get attention, he could do with sorting out some proper problems!
We don't really need a picture of Obama smoking. What message does that send to kids?
