Michael Jackson's father Joe Jackson was a brute of a man who bullied his children and now has some of his grandchildren living under his roof. Joe used physical and emotional abuse to force Michael and his siblings to perform. Many say that he drove Michael to become what he became, both positive and negative. Yet, Joe Jackson was never prosecuted or even investigated for the abuse that all his children acknowledged occurred.
Instead Joe Jackson appeared on the red carpet and in the front row at Sunday's BET Awards ceremony, which were restructured to commemorate the life of Michael Jackson. At a time when most parents would be isolated in mourning, Joe Jackson was taking credit for his son's contributions while promoting his own projects.
This is not the type of man who should be honored. It would have been more appropriate for him to watch the ceremonies from behind bars. Even more bizarre is the fact that Joe and his wife Katherine have become the temporary guardians for Michael's three children Price, Paris and Prince Michael II (Blanket).
In response to that situation, Joe said,
"We're the parents. This is where they belong. We're going to take care of them and give them the education they're supposed to have."
What kind of education will that be? The same as Michael and his siblings received on the business end of Joe's strap? Where is Children's Protective Services in this high profile situation?
And why haven't Michael's brothers and sisters come forward to protect his children. They have direct experience of Joe's "parenting skills."
May all children receive the love and nurturing that the deserve so that they grow up joyful and able to pass that love and joy onto their children and all humankind.

I only know what I have read in papers over the years about Joe Jackson and how he abused his children. If what is reported true I only hope someone come forward and make sure the children are place with someone who will not use them for their material gains. I guess the guestion is WHO WOULD BE BETTER, GRANDPARENTS, DEBBIE ROWE OR SOMEONE WHO WILL NOT USE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE WHO THEY ARE?????
Shouldn't we respect the wishes of Michael as stipulated in his will !
Joe and Katherine seperated in the 1980s (I cannot link here, but a quick Google will point you to plenty of sources) and, while they have never publicly admitted it, have not lived together for many years. Joe lives in Las Vegas with a much younger girlfriend and Katherine lives in LA. Let's remember only Katherine has been named the children's guardian. Hopefully the family will rally around and be sure he is kept well clear of the kids.
If I believed everything I read- I'd be as nuts as Michael and his dad (as suggested in every newspaepr/tabloid). Unfortunatley, the bottom line is that Michael was an adult and effectively responsible for himself. His upbringing obviously lead to Michael becoming a pop star. If it were not for his Dad (stern and tough) we would not be discussing Michael today.
I hope that the children grow up as Michael would have wished and that all the attention does not make them crazy! We live in a crazy world and if they get the right guidance they should be OK, he must have loved his Mother to want her to take care of them???

Well, I'm glad somebody's said it. Joe Jackson has lost his son, who happens to be an adored icon across the world. But we haven't seen a tear. We've seen no remorse from him, while Michael's siblings can barely hold it together as they speak to the public. How much you wanna bet all those grandkids are going to come out with a record? And it's quite obvious that Michael,this dear troubled man whom we've all loved for the last four decades, was in emotional turmoil most of his life. The parents are the rock. If they do their children wrong, it will be with them forever. I believe Michael Jackson would be alive and well today if there had been some genuine parental love during his life from good ol' Joe Jackson.
And not only all that everyone has said but one thing that constantly bothers me is the first thing I heard him say in response to Michael Jackson's death wasn't ''my son...'' it was ''the biggest superstar...'' lots of emotion obviously in that one. ugh

I heard on a newscast that Michael Jackson's parents have been living separately for the last 10 years; he is Las Vegas, NV and her in Encino, CA. I pray this is true for these innocent children's sake. They need our prayers.
I agree actually with Michael Jackson, concerning Diana Ross a good person, I think Diana Ross should give advice to MJ's mother Katherine on how to raise children, not that she's a bad mother but I mean two women that MJ loved and trusted are better than one. I wish we could somehow go back in time and all of us would pray for him and show how much we love him. I personally have always loved his music but I never thought he was suffering so much phisically and emotionally. And shame on who ever started those false rumors on him molesting children.

I totally agree with this article. What a sad, pathetic, vile old man Joe Jackson is. All he is interested in is money and he has no fatherly emotion toward his children. It's utterly disgusting. Why isn't he behind bars? Those poor grandchildren - lets hope they are being closely monitored. I can see why no money was left to him, but unfortunately money was left to his wife, and so he will still get the benefit of it. A truly sickening situation.

I don't see why Katherine seems to be let off the hook. She's culpable as well. She stood by while her husband emotionally and physically abused her children. For more than forty years she lived off her children. Parents are supposed to support their children - not live a millionaire lifestyle that's funded by a ten year old son. Michael was emotionally stunted and never grew up. The rest of the kids seem dysfunctional to say the least. She raised them all. I don't know how people can claim she's a good mother.
She may be kind and caring and religious - but all the bible reading in the world won't make up for what she did to her kids.

Thank you so much for speaking truth about this monster whose criminal behavior & its impact on Michael have gone unremarked for years. Many people knew it was going on, and made money off it. Barry Gordy, head of Motown, for one -- on the Tavis Smiley show he recently dismissed the "sound bytes" about abuse and said how "disciplined" the Jackson 5 were. Terrorized is more like it. Michael used to vomit and faint at the mere sight of his father, and had to be held up his bodyguards. Is it any wonder that he ended up with some problems? And then he was castigated by the media for that, while the true villains lived in luxury off the spoils. I was very glad that Michael's will leaves his father NOTHING, and I hope the will holds. And I hope it is true for the sake of the children that his mother is not living with him. It is amazing what Michael achieved given what he suffered as a child, and we must not allow any child to suffer like that.
Protect your children from grandpa Jackson. Do not even hesitate to step up Ms. Rowe. You did as MJ directed in life. He is gone. Now what is critical this moment is: What is best for your children. MJ was a wealthy, loving eccentric. However, it is no longer about MJ’s eccentricities nor your dislike of publicity, it is about your children. I am sure those empty years were harder on you than you would ever admit even to yourself. So find your children and regain some of that which was denied you. The harsh babbling of tabloids will be insignificant compared to the rewards you will reap in rejoining with your beautiful children. You will find the strength and the way, and much more easily so than it might appear now. I truly feel that you, a mother denied, will provide a healthy home and raise all three children best. And do so in keeping with your loving memory of MJ. Anything else is only a possible “option.” Best wishes for the happiness of your family.

For Mr. Joe Jackson, it looks like Michael Jackson was not a beloved son of him. His feeling seemed not much attached to his son or just more like a big star to the public. His motion and the way he talks don't show much grief over his son

He totally blew off the question like it was no big deal and had the nerve to promote his record company?!?! Who cares?! I sure don't.
