Frida and Benny of ABBA accept trophies of induction into
the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Only 25 women members.

The induction of ABBA into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on March 15 raised the percentage of inducted women performers to only 15%. Frida and Anna of ABBA are now among only 25 women performers who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame. The total number of inductees according to Frida is 180.

Although the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is in Cleveland, the ceremony was at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York. Hopefully, we will begin to see some gender equality in that institution and witness what Joel Peresman, president and CEO of the Hall of Fame claimed when he said that the artists being inducted "represent a great cross-section of artists that define the broad spectrum and history of rock 'n' roll and people that have contributed immeasurably to our business."
Surely there have been more than 25 great women rockers. May we all recognize that many have great talent, and many we each recognize our own talent and the gifts we have to share.

we need to recognize more women in all fields, including rock and roll
I think part of the ABBA hating was also the fact that women fronted the band, so it was music for girls. But good for Frida and Agnetha, they now have the last laugh!
