As she addressed the National Tea Party Convention Saturday, Feb. 6, former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin could be seen glancing at her left hand. When photographers zoomed on her, it was clear Palin had made crib notes on her palm. The photos revealed the words "Energy," "Budget cuts" "Tax," and "Lift Americans Spirits" scribbled in ink.
The ten-thousand-plus on hand in Nashville likely hadn't noticed the hand notes, however, the scribbles have caused considerable stir. Some believe the notes give rival party members plenty to jab at and point to a Sarah Palin different from the woman who referred to her kind, Alaskan hockey moms, as "pit bulls with lipstick" when she address the Republican Convention in Minneapolis last year.
There's no doubt Palin is good for the Republican party, perhaps all of politics. Her image alone is far removed from the stoic mainstays of dark suits, solid ties and greased comb-overs common in Washington. When Palin called President Barack Obama "a charismatic guy with a Teleprompter," she may have forgotten she joins the president in a new breed of politician, perhaps not seen since John F. Kennedy graced the America public with chiseled good looks and a youthful smile. While Palin hardly comes from Kennedy stock, she does represent a strong voice and vibrant look we all know attracts voters.
What do the hand notes really tell us about Sarah Palin?
Some will argue Palin's use of crib notes during such a large political speech shows she's unorganized and unsure of how to identify with an audience. Others will likely claim she may lack faith in script writers, who, by all accounts, were responsible for her famous "pit bull" speech.
Perhaps Palin's notes paint a picture of an organized wife and mother. Every parent knows the importance of organization, which, at times, is not possible without making lists. After all, Palin, herself, has sold the American people on her similarity to millions of working mothers--and grandmothers for that matter.
Truthfully, we've all seen what blunders and flubs do for the images of celebrities. Keep in mind, Saturday Night Live has taken its pokes, which usually means one has arrived.

Comments
Palins political perspective or, to employ her populist parlance, presumably that fear-y, status quo thingy, seems to be working out just fine, at least for her. This self-centered strategy has proven extremely effective in the short-term, upping Ms. Palins media profile while lining her pockets at the same time.
However, appealing to peoples irrational fear of change generally brings out the worst in them (a fact demonstrated by the many misguided and offensive slogans spouted at tea party events last summer).
And assuring voters that we can continue consuming resources at or above our current rate is as reckless as it is dishonest. To use a tired metaphor, at a time when Americans must get leaner, Palin is scoring political points by telling us we can eat ice cream every night for dinner and never gain weight or run out of milk.

There is always a trashy gutter pig sitting in front of a computer in his underwear slinging garbage at anyone who is more famous than they are. Go back to prison...
clip616: Did you even read this?
Sarah mocks Obama but she shows her real intelligence by Showing her hand .on one hand all of the thinks she wanted to remember .and on the other hand all of the things she knows ..NOTHING
Palin for President man we are desperate .YOU BETCHAWINK WINK
she needs just a few notes on her hand to give a good speech.
Obama needs a teleprompter or he is lost
Yes, most Presidents use a teleprompter for an hour long speech. She uses hand notes for THREE key points. And she knew this question would be asked. Brilliant!!
These words were scribbled on her right hand "Breath In Breath Out Repeat"
Our president used the teleprompter the other day while addressing an elementary school class.
Here's somebody else who should have had notes:

President Obama didn't use a teleprompter to address the school children. Read www.factcheck.org. Don't believe everything you read. Use some critical thought. It is very ironic that a woman who has made a platform out of Obama's use of a teleprompter - suggesting he cannot communicate without one, but you saw him take on the House Republicans without a prepared script - is just nuts. She should leave it alone. Amazingly, people like you eat it up. Wow.
Wow, even a kid in speech class in high school knows not to write crib notes on his/her hand.... If you're really that desperate an index card is better than nothing. Here's the real question: is this just a publicity stunt, or is she really that dumb?
The thing is, she already knew what the questions were and she couldnt remember 3 words? Why has she never given a press conference? Because she could never answer questions that werent pre screened.
Are the grifter Palins going to be charged with tax evasion or is this going to be swept under the carpet like all the other "little dirty things"shes done in Alaska. Now I will be attacked by the "Palin Cult".
All presidents use teleprompters for their own written speeches. Obama writes his own, Palin needs a "ghostwriter plus a hand.
When will Palin supporters wake up and realize that the Palins are getting rich off of their donations to SarahPac and speaking engagements just like the Jim Bakkers did in the 80's. Them there elitists, hiding under folksy charm.
