Donna Simpson has goals. Her biggest is to crack the Guinness Book of World Records as the world's heaviest woman.
At 600 pounds, Simpson spends her days consuming thousands of calories, eating more than professional athletes and Olympic champions during their peak training periods. A typical trip to the grocery store yields Simpson 20 to 30 pizzas, dozens of doughnuts, various meats, chips, candy, soft drinks and bread.
Simpson spends about $750 per week on food, not including the multiple Double Quarter Pounders with Cheese from McDonald's she eats regularly.
"My favorite food is sushi," Donna said. "I can sit and eat 70 big pieces of sushi in one go. I do love cakes and sweet things. Doughnuts are my favorite."
Donna's goal is to reach 1,000 pounds.
Simpson's "training" regimen includes a variety of activities, or lack thereof. Aside from her calorie intake, the 42-year-old tries to limit her physical activity, spending most days sitting down and sleeping. To get around in public, Simpson uses a mobility scooter so she doesn't burn too many calories. It is also becoming increasingly difficult for her to move without assistance.
Walking around in her New Jersey home is about all she can handle these days. She is only able to walk about 20 feet before she has to sit down.
Simpson's boyfriend, 49-year-old Philippe, encourages her to eat as much as she can. Philippe, who has a fetish for fat women, met Donna on a plus-size dating site.
"I think he’d like it if I was bigger," Donna said. "He’s a real belly man and completely supports me."
Philippe weighs 150 pounds.
To pay for her gigantic food bill, Simpson runs a Web site where men pay to watch her consume large quantities of food.
According to Donna Simpson's mother, her daughter began gaining weight as a young girl. She developed a hankering for big meals, treats and fast food at an early age. By the time Simpson was nine, she weighed approximately 175 pounds.
"Food was her way of showing she loved us," her mother said. "She wanted us to eat and she was very protective of us. She wouldn’t let anyone say anything bad to us about our weight. She would argue with doctors who said it was dangerous."
According to the Guinness Book of World Records, Simpson is the fattest mom in the world. She weighed 560 pounds in 2007 when she gave birth to her daughter by cesarean section. Because of her size, it took more than 25 medical professionals to perform the operation.
If she reaches 1,000 pounds, Simpson will unseat Rosalie Bradford, who posthumously holds the record as the world's heaviest woman. Bradford was 917 pounds in 2006.
Bradford had reached 1,199 pounds in the late '80s. She lost more than 900 pounds with the help of Richard Simmons. She died in 2006.
As for Simpson, she will keep eating her way to the title.
"I’d love to be 1,000 pounds," Donna delighted. "It might be hard though. Running after my daughter keeps my weight down."

She has the FREEDOM to be fat if she wants. Just like you have the freedom to smoke, or drink or stick your finger down your throat every time you eat.

I understand all the controversy over her daughter. I'm equally worried about the child, but her "wanting to be fat" is really not that news-worthy. I mean, honestly, she is not "breaking the law," she is simply doing what she would like to do. She is honestly no different from any woman who "diets" to stay at that one weight, or a woman who starves herself because she wants to be skinnier. Those are both lifestyle choices, those are both ways of lving. Granted, her lifestyle choice is not exactly "healthy" it is nno different than any one else's lifestlye choice. There are racists, religists, people who do thinks not even comparable to this who do not get this kind of attention. America, you need to calm down, stop worring so much about beauty, lifestyle, and fitness, and focus more on what really matters, this is not one of those things that matter.
Are we going to have to pay for her medical bills when this new healthcare bill goes through?

This is an absolute disgrace. Anyone who's goal is to become 1000lbs obviously has a death wish and is mentally unstable. How can any health insurance company issue her a policy? The men in the white coats with a crane and a flatbed truck needs to put her away. We're going to end up funding her emergency room visits, hospital treatments (if that's even possible), and finally her funeral which won't be long now !!
I think this is the most selfish idea that this mother could have ever invented in her small little mixed up brain.She's thinking of no one but herself and her equally 'sick' husband.what about the child, does she even cares that her child could be left prematurely motherless?? i thinks it is more advantageous to consider that, than merely trying to break a record.It's sickening!!!

The only thing disgusting about this situation is the hateful, insulting, meddlesome messages left by many of the commenter’s here. If this woman wants to be fat then so be it. It is her business how she spends her life and not the business of you clowns who think you have the right to control others. As for those who think they are paying for her obesity in some way, I encourage you to take a civics and or economics class and actually see where your tax dollars really go. Once you’ve actually learned about how entitlement programs really work, maybe then you will shut your mouths and find something a little higher on the priority scale to bitch about.
