The Three Wisemen who brought gifts to the baby Jesus are known as Los Tres Reyes Magos (Three Kings) in the Spanish-speaking world. They still bring gifts, but in Spanish-speaking countries they also have their own day. They arrive the night before January 6, a day which is also known as Epiphany.
Different Spanish-speaking countries have their own way of celebrating the arrival of the Reyes with parades, parties and special dishes.
If you are awaiting their arrival in D.C. you can join in a procession (with live animals!) that will start at 1:30 p.m. at Park Road and 14th Street. This procession will be followed by a 2 p.m. performance at the GALA Theatre
The theater will give out free tickets for the performance starting at noon and they ask that you follow the example of Los Tres Reyes and bring toy for child in need.
