With the popularity of San Diego Comic Con growing worldwide, it appears that many new conventions are popping up all over Los Angeles and beyond.
One convention in particular, continually stands out from the rest. Now In it’s fifth year, DesignerCon has certainly made it’s mark!
Organizers Ben Goretsky (3DRetro) and Ayleen Gaspar (Toy Break/October Toys), join forces, bringing to Los Angeles, one of the most creative, fun, and unique events of it’s kind!
This annual art and design convention combines collectible toys and designer apparel with urban, underground, and pop art. On November 20th, 2010, DesignerCon will feature live painting with some of today’s most popular artists including: Joe Ledbetter, Buff Monster, Scott Tolleson, Nathan Hamill and more! Past shows have featured many artists including Frank Kozik, Amanda Visell, Tim Biskup, and Greg “Craola” Simkins!
Other highlights you can expect during the convention include Spoonful of Star Wars Art Exhibition featuring over 100 paintings of vintage Star Wars action figures by Bwana Spoons from the collection of Dov Kelemer and Sarah Jo Marks. Dr. Sketchy’s Anti-Art School, bringing you the world premier alternative drawing movement. So Analog Custom Show by Squid Kids Ink featuring dozens of customized figures. Limited Edition Goodie bags filled with toys, stickers, pins, and more. You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in the World’s Biggest “Blindbox Time” brought to you by Toy Break and DesignerCon, the biggest recorded group blindbox opening.
