Winchinchala is an accomplished author, photographer and journalist whose works have appeared online and in print since 1992. She holds advanced degrees in film/writing and anthropology from Columbia University. She was a professor in Boston for many years. Winchinchala believes that "Culture is reflected through art. Engaging with it allows one to observe first hand how different peoples experience it. Thus they often come to appreciate other cultures and understand one another."
