Kelly's, For Just About Anything, Dunedin, Florida
If you notice that your hostess isn't acknowledging your existence or showing you to your table, don't get upset. In fact, if she does offer to help you, then you should start to worry. "Carol", the tall, blonde mannequin, is exactly what one should expect from this eclectic restaurant. Kelly's, For Just About Anything, has been a fixture in the Dunedin culinary scene for many years and helps to define the downtown atmosphere. In fact, owner Virgil Kelly has nearly cornered the entire downtown market with the recent additions of The Chic-A-Boom Room, a martini bar and Blur which offers the only dance floor in Dunedin.
As for the food at Kelly's, you have to experience it to fully understand it. Breakfast features homemade muffins, crispy home fries, huge omelets and selections that you won't find in any other location. The lunch and dinner menus feature everything from sandwiches, to pizza to duck sausage. I've been a loyal fan of Kelly's for many years and can honestly say that I've never encountered a bad meal. Their many awards, including a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, backs up this claim. The dining room is small and cozy, but you can choose to sit on the back patio if you prefer something a little more spacious. They even have live music on the weekends. Kelly's is a great restaurant for the entire family, offering simple fare for the kids and numerous exotic selections for the grownups.
