Miami-based Royal Caribbean International announced today that sister-ship to last year's Oasis of the Seas, the new 225, 282 ton Allure of the Seas will debut in Florida's Port Everglades a week earlier than planned.
Originally scheduled to begin seven-night itineraries out of Fort Lauderdale on December 12, the ship will begin service on December 5th, a full week ahead of schedule. Passengers booked on the December 12 sailing will be contacted by the cruise line or their travel agents and given priority to switch to the December 5 sailing.
The addition of Allure of the Seas homeports the worlds two largest cruise ships in Florida's Port Everglades, remodeled and updated last year before the debut of Oasis of the Seas, to handle the weekly turnaround that will move 5000 guests on and off the ships. To better handle the crowds, Oasis will turnaround on Saturdays while Allure will do so on Sundays of each week.
Nearly a carbon-copy of Oasis of the Seas, Allure will feature all the popular features including the Aqua Theater shown in this video
