It is Spring Break time in California and that means that some people will be packing the car for a road trip, flying on a plane, or cruising the waters. For me, packing the two kids is always an exercise in making sure that I have the basics covered.
Ten must take items for kids going on a Spring Break cruise:
- Notarized letter from non-traveling parent authorizing foreign travel with a minor if both parents are not cruising with the child. If possible have the non-cruising parent help at check-in to answer questions at embarkation.
- Pack a day bag with all paperwork. A change of clothes. Swimsuit. Valuables. Medicine.
- Antibacterial wipes and hand sanitizer.
- Small toys, a couple of books.
- One fancy outfit for formal night and a formal family portrait .
- Handheld game player and charger.
- For smaller children, bring some favorite snack items that your child eats everyday (goldfish crackers or a treat.)
- A favorite DVD (if your cabin has a player.)
- A good attitude.
- Plenty of patience.
