Cruise, here with John Lennon (Photo

If ever there was a time when a cruise made sense, this is the time. On March 28, 2010, Royal Caribbean's Independence of the Seas will set sail for 6 nights from Fort Lauderdale on a Western Caribbean route. What makes this any different from any other Independence of the Seas sailing? The Beatles, of course! And they will be rocking you through the seas during this cruise.
Well, not exactly, seeing as only Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney are still with us (John Lennon and George Harrison are unfortunately deceased). However, the Beatles Tribute Cruise, run by Beatles expert Woody Lifton, is the next best thing. Mr. Lifton has been a Beatles buff since the Fab Four from Liverpool debuted on the Ed Sullivan Show back in 1964. Since then, he has taken on many projects related to the Beatles, including a 22-week stint on a radio show to share his knowledge and insight on perhaps the greatest rock band to have ever graced the airwaves.
The Beatles Tribute Cruise (please click through to their website for more information) has one of the most powerful lineup of guests onboard outside of the Fab Four themselves: May Pang, John Lennon's former girlfriend and author of "Loving John" and "Instamatic Karma"; Nancy Lee Andrews, Ringo Starr's former fiancee and the author of "A Dose of Rock and Roll"; Shannon, the world's greatest Beatles artist; Paul Saltzman, the author of "The Beatles in Rishikesh"; Jorie Gracen, Paul McCartney's photographer for over 20 years and the author of "I Saw Him Standing There"; and BritBeat, America's greatest tribute band to the Beatles.
This cruise is destined to be one of the most memorable cruises for its passengers. Fortunately, you also have additional incentive from Royal Caribbean. Prices have been lowered to 30% lower than normal for this group package. However, you must book to get this special price by October 15, 2009. Please see the cruise's website - www.beatlestributecruise.com - for more details. Even if you miss the October 15th deadline, you will surely get your money's worth out of this vacation package without a doubt.
The itinerary for this cruise out of Fort Lauderdale is as follows: Belize City, Belize; Costa Maya, Mexico; and Cozumel, Mexico, before returning to Fort Lauderdale. If you go to the website's page for the Itinerary, you will see all of the exciting Beatles' related events that are planned for the cruise. It will be something you will always remember, so you should consider booking now since space is filling up fast. You will want to go to the Beatles Tribute Cruise website for more information.
For more of the cruising experience, please stay tuned for future articles. Until then, Bon Voyage!

This sounds like a great trip for Beatles fans. The Beatles home city of Liverpool is a busy seaport, so celebrating on a ship is a natural idea.
Sounds cool!!
Wow, great idea!
What an interesting lineup of "celebrity" guests... I'll bet this will be a popular one...maybe even a sell-out. I'll tell a friend who is a Beatles buff about it.
Great idea. Too bad this is around the same time as the Fest for Beatles in NJ, but if you're going to go all out, you might as well travel with a Beatles festival. Very cool.
