Nominations for the 2010 Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced on December 17, and the crime TV shows once again represented the genre well.  NCIS: Los Angeles' Chris O'Donnell was one of the presenters (joined by Trucker's Michelle Monaghan) who announced the nominees in Los Angeles at the Pacific Design Center's Silver Screen Theater in West Hollywood.

The Mentalist's Simon Baker and Dexter's Michael C. Hall were both nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series, along with Breaking Bad's Bryan Cranston (they will compete against Jon Hamm (Mad Men) and Hugh Laurie (House)).

The category of Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series was chock full of crime actresses as well.  Law and Order: SVU's Mariska Hargitay, Saving Grace's Holly Hunter, and The Closer's Kyra Sedgwick are all up for the award (against Patricia Arquette (Medium), Glenn Close (Damages), and Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife)).

As expected, Tony Shalhoub (Monk) was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series (against Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), Steve Carrell (The Office), Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and Charlie Sheen (Two and a Half Men)).

The casts of The Closer and Dexter were both nominated for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, against The Good Wife, Mad Men, and True Blood.  Both of those shows were nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series as well, along with the cast of The Unit (against 24 and Heroes).

The SAG awards will be simulcast live on TNT and TBS on January 23, 2010 at 8pm EST.

Now with another round of award nominations done, who do you think got snubbed?  Who do you think got honored perfectly?  Why do you think NBC is nominated for more awards than any other network when it routinely has the lowest television ratings of any given night?  Leave me a comment and let me know.
