Tampa prostitution sting ‘Happy Valentine’s Day’ nets arrests
On February 14, 2010, the Tampa Police department conducted an undercover prostitution sting called “Happy Valentine’s Day.” The operation was conducted by the District Two Rapid Offender Control “ROC” squads 234 and 232 in response to the numerous complaints regarding prostitution on Nebraska Avenue. The Happy Valentine’s Day sting didn’t focus on the prostitutes but rather on the ‘Johns.’ Five ‘Johns’ were arrested and charged with Solicitation for Prostitution. On e of the arrests included a juvenile.
The arrest information is as follows:
B/M Harrison, Antwuan M with a DOB of 5-04-77
B/M Senat, Francois L with a DOB of 12-03-84
B/M Burk, Kendrick D with a DOB of 6-14-90
W/M Hernandez-Ortiz, Moises D with a DOB of 8-18-88
The juvenile’s information has not been made public.
Several of the johns arrested face additional charges. Moises Hernandez-Ortiz was also charged with possession of marijuana, grand theft, and carrying a concealed firearm. The weapon he carried had previously been reported stolen by the Pasco County Sheriff’s office.
Kendrick Burk fled the scene and resisted arrest. During the arrest, he damaged one of the undercover police cars. He faces charges of solicitation of prostitution, criminal mischief, Driving with license suspended with knowledge, and resisting arrest without violence.
According to the Tampa Police Department, more undercover operations are planned for the area.
