Neo Nazi trial to begin: John Allen Ditullio Jr. (part 3)

Police had considered all four men from the Neo Nazi camp/trailer as suspects in the murder. Two were in custody and the search was on for the others. Once all four were picked up, the work began in determining who was responsible for the crime. From the beginning, John Ditullio put the blame on Shawn Plott. It wasn’t however, until blood evidence came in that the prosecution believed they had their man: John Ditullio Jr.

It was known that American Nazi, member, Brian “Zero” Buckley had broken into Patricia Wells home on March 7, 2006. This was just 16 days before the murder and attempted murder would occur. Days following Ditullio’s arrest, he would speak to the St. Petersburg Times and tell them that it was Shawn Plott who was the murderer.

Ditullio had referred to an incident that had been included in a Sheriff’s report. It is unknown whether Ditullio’s attorney intends on telling the same story during trial; he has stated that his client is innocent.
Ditullio stated that Shawn Plott’s girlfriend, Christine Cristinzio had a gun pulled on her by a black man who was visiting Wells. The incident angered Plott and over the next several days, they continued to mull over the incident.

Drinking heavily and taking drugs was part of their routine. John Ditullio states that someone drugged his drink with Xanax the night of the murder and that he doesn’t remember exactly what happened. He said that he didn’t remember what time Shawn Plott left, but that he heard the gate make noise upon his return. Ditullio told the Times that when Plott returned he stated, “I’ve taken care of them forever.”

Ditullio then states that he was given orders to stay in the trailer/compound, given guns, and given orders to hold down the fort. He said that he was instructed to shoot at any cops should they arrive.
He said that the three men and Plott’s girlfriend left the trailer while he continued to sleep. He said that he woke up early Thursday and saw deputies outside of the trailer through a home security system that was installed in the trailer. He said he then took four more Xanax and smoked pot until he passed out.
He said that he was passed out when SWAT stormed the mobile home; the time was 1:45 p.m. Ditullio said that those who put the blame on him for the murder had ‘betrayed the brotherhood.’

Later, Shawn Plott was found and arrested on other charges. Though Ditullio put the blame on him, prosecutors said their evidence proved otherwise.
