America’s Most Wanted featured Florida fugitive, Paul Michael Merhige as the hunt for the Thanksgiving murderer continues. Paul Merhige is wanted for a shooting rampage that occurred on Thanksgiving evening and left four dead and one wounded. One of the fatalities included Paul Michael Merhige’s own six year old niece. Paul Merhige is accused of shooting the child as she lay asleep in her bed.
According to reports, the 35 year old was at the family gathering where seventeen members had come together to celebrate the holiday. Reports say that some time during the night, Paul Merhige stepped outside and went to his car. It is believed that he retrieved a handgun, went back inside and opened fire on his twin sisters, Carla Merhige and Lisa Knight. Reports also state that Lisa Knight was pregnant. After he shot his sisters, reports say that Paul Michael Merhige then opened fire on his 76 year old aunt, Rahmonde Joseph; it was after shooting his aunt that Paul Merhige shot and killed his six year old cousin, Makayla Sitton. Two victims were shot and survived; they are Patrick Knight, Paul Merhige’s brother in law and Clifford Gebara, Paul Merhige’s cousin.
After the bloody rampage, Paul Merhige fled in his vehicle, he has not been seen since. Now all of Florida and the nation are on the lookout for Paul Michael Merhige who is considered to be armed and dangerous.
Warrants have been issued for Merhige’s arrest and his is facing four counts of 1st Degree murder with a firearm and two counts of attempted 1st Degree murder with a firearm.
Paul Michael Merhige is believed to be driving a 2007 blue Toyota Camry 4 door with the Florida license plate number W427JT.
