High schools throughout the county are marking graduations and in Vista, the authorities will be out in force Friday and Saturday night in order to ensure an celebrating is done in a lawful manner.
"Operation Safe Celebration" is being conducted by San Diego Sheriff's deputies with the Vista station, Capt. Tim Curran said.
The extra patrols are on hand throughout the city of Vista as law enforcement seeks to prevent a repeat of tragic motor vehicle accidents involving youthful drivers, many of which involved drugs and alcohol.
Motorists in the city of Vista will be seeing an increased enforcement presence that is aimed that potentially impaired drivers.
In addition, authorities have been called to parties that involve adults who provide alcohol to minors.
THe goal of the next two nights is to "strictly enforce the city of Vista Social Host ordinance," Curran said, and "keep the roadways safe for all to enjoy the start of the summer season."
