Authorities hauled in 21 suspected undocumented immigrants after they landed in a 15-foot panga on Beacon's Beach in Encinitas on Tuesday morning.
The incident is the latest in what U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials say is a recent surge in maritime smuggling attempts, a spokesman said in a statement.
It began around 4:45 a.m., when agents spotted the boat offshore and approaching the coastline.
They tracked the boat as it landed on the beach and directed border agents and sheriff's deputies to the location.
In all, 19 males and two females were arrested for illegally entry into the U.S.
The incident follows two other human smuggling attempts during the weekend.

Doesn't the Mexican Government have any shame?? Doesn't the U.S. Governmente have any shame in allowing Americans wages to be repressed, jobs taken, and language abused? Please don't come back with the excuse of "who would pick lettuce". Does AMerica need twenty million people to "pick lettuce".
