Gunmen invade home in Valley Center

Two gunmen claiming to be federal drug agents forced their way into a home in Valley Center Tuesday night, terrorizing half a dozen residents during an apparent search for narcotics.

The men, both white, were wearing black tactical gear and were armed with an assault rifle and handgun, San Diego County Sheriff's Sgt. Bob Bishop said.

The home invasions began around 8:40 p.m in the 11000 block of Keys Creek Road, Bishop said.

Upon forcing entry into the first home claiming they were DEA agents, they ordered four of the victims to the ground and handcuffed them using zip ties.

The suspects appeared to be searching for drugs while they ransacked the home and asked about the whereabouts of a former roommate.

When two residents from another home on the property approached the first home in a vehicle, the suspects confronted them, Bishop said.

One of the victims escaped into a canyon where he called 911 and told authorities where the victims were being held.

The suspects were last seen driving away from the area in a red-colored BMW.

Anyone with information on the suspects is asked to call the Valley Center Sheriff's Station at (760) 751-4400
