Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich recently made public the staggering amount which the taxpayers spend on illegal aliens, living in L.A. County. This June alone, the county paid out $48 million to the children of illegal aliens, known as ‘anchor babies,’ an increase of $10 million over June 2007.
$26 million of that total came in the form of food stamps, while another $22 million was given to the illegal alien families in welfare checks.
If the current pace continues for the remainder of 2009, Los Angeles County will spend nearly $600 million on those two programs this year alone. That is in addition to the more than $1 billion that the county spends annually on the medical treatment, education, emergency services, and incarceration of illegal aliens.
These figures truly explain why not only L.A. County, but the entire state of California are now in financial ruin. Supervisor Michael Antonovich told reporters that illegal aliens continue to have a “catastrophic impact on Los Angeles County taxpayers.”
In 2003, the American Southwest saw 77 hospitals enter bankruptcy due to unpaid medical bills incurred by illegal aliens. A staggering 84 hospitals in California alone, have been forced to close their doors because of the growing crisis. Hospitals which manage to remain open, pass the unpaid costs onto the rest of us, which translates into more out-of-pocket expenses and higher insurance premiums for Americans.
Of course, our local, state, and federal governments also pass the enormous costs which come with allowing millions of illegal aliens to reside in this country onto American citizens.
With rising unemployment, huge trade deficits due to the loss of our manufacturing base, and a soaring national debt, we simply cannot afford to pay the bills for this nation’s illegal alien population. We can no longer accept elected representatives who choose to better represent a foreign national population, rather than those of us who pay actually pay their salaries.
Illegal immigration is slowly but surely destroying this nation.

Thank you for the analysis Dave, and for referencing Mike Antonvich, who for years has been warning about the damage illegal aliens do to Los Angeles financially and otherwise. But you see Dave, he has to argue with Supervisors like Gloria Molina, who at an illegal alien rally said, "we are going to politicize these people, and we are going to pay "them" back. Them meaning white society and everyone knows it. Fat and happy Gloria Molina is nothing but a typical reconquista traitor and racist,who has a high paying job, and will get a high paid pension plan from the labor of those white people she denigrates. As a long time resident of L.A. I just thought you'd like to know the score on how things "really are" in Los Angeles, and largely California, and why nothing can get done.
Oh,one last thing. The leftist Democrats are doing everything they can to support illegal immigration, the reconquistas, and the ruination of California. The San Francisco liberal leftist Democratic crowd, alone, representing Sacramento ,is a mini-wrecking crew.
Oh how different things would be if Proposition 187, which was approved overwhelmingly in 1994 by California voters, had not been ruled unconstitutional by one leftist ACLU judge. Notorious Governor Gray Davis saw to it that Proposition 187 never got appealed to the Supreme Court in an underhanded deal with La Raza pressure groups and the President of Mexico. American citizens were sold down the river in the name of diversity and tolerance. But the fight against massive illegal immigration continues. We have no choice but to fight on or lose everything.
LA is just the USA in 25 years. It's the second largest mexican city in the world. California is disfunctional, but entertaining.
My hope is it gets so bad here that 10~15 million just leave. Then the illegals will follow the jobs to other states that arn't bankrupt. I'll have some elbowroom and if they raise taxes a lot of riff-raff will leave too.

Everyone needs to start calling their Congressional Representatives and demand that they support HR 1868 to end the so called anchor baby issue. This law would require that one of the parents of a child born here at the time of birth be a US citizen.

Why is my home state broke? Why are over 100 of our hospitals out of business? Why are over 200 emergency rooms closed. Why are illegal aliens the number 1, reason California has the most housing foreclosures of any State in the U.S. Why do the Southwest States where illegal aliens have bought homes have the most foreclosures of any areas in the U.S.? And finally, do you think that you could possibly have been misinformed or have read biased sources of information?
By the way Heidi, while you have given opinions, Dave has given facts, that you have not shown to be untrue. You can't have it both ways. The American citizenry is supporting illegal immigration in every way imaginable. Phone companies give discounted rates so they can have phones, other utility companies give illegal aliens discounts because they can't afford the full price, illegal aliens collect "earned income credit", which means they get up to six thousand dollars from the American taxpayer to supplement their low incomes, because they don't make enough to support their families with their jobs, and on and on. None of the professors who you cited seem to know any of this.
I fail to understand how illegal immigrants pay more in taxes than they use in government services. If you live in Illinois, consider an illegal immigrant with a wife and two children making $36,000 a year, with a taxpayer ID number, living in a two bedroom apartment. The 2008 Fedeal/State Income Tax book was used to compute most of the taxes.
