Investigators have determined that the wildfire burning known as the La Brea Fire, in the Los Padres National Forest, which began on August 8, was actually started by a cooking fire being used by Mexican marijuana growers. On Saturday, the Santa Barbara County sheriff's office and the U.S. Forest Service held a joint press conference and stated that the raging wildfire was touched off by a "cooking fire in a marijuana drug trafficking operation ... believed to be run by a Mexican national drug organization." "Although the La Brea Fire started more than one week ago, there is evidence that the unburned marijuana garden area has been occupied within the last several days.” Both local and federal authorities believe that Mexican drug cartel operatives are still in the area and are desperate to escape as law enforcement closes in on them, the situation is very dangerous not only to the officers, but to those fighting the blaze as well. On Monday, U.S. Forest Service spokesman Jim Turner said: "The suspects are still at large. We've closed the area to the public ... so if anyone is likely to encounter them, it would be the firefighters, and of course those people have all been alerted and are on the watch." The fire has now destroyed more than 130 square miles of forest and forced more than 2,000 residents from their homes. While the La Brea Fire may represent the first time that the mainstream press has reported on a fire which was set by Mexican nationals, this incident is only the latest and perhaps most costly fire. However, arson has actually become a favorite tactic used by those who now regularly invade this country.
In May 2007, in Arizona, Border Patrol Agents chased five illegals back across the Mexican border. Once on the other side, the five began pegging the agents and their vehicles with rocks. The agents moved back and continued to observe, then a Molotov cocktail was hurled at the agents. It hit the ground and missed the Border Patrol vehicles. The agents then contacted the Mexican military for assistance. As usual, that help never came.
About an hour later, an agent noticed a fire burning in a nearby wheat field. The San Luis Fire Department responded and fortunately the only property damaged in the extremely dry area was the field itself. A total of five fires were set that night by illegal aliens. The fires surrounded a Border Patrol observation post and were an attempt to burn the agents out. No agents were injured in the multiple blazes and none of the illegals were apprehended.
The border area has become so dangerous due to Mexican drug smugglers and illegal aliens crossing into this country, that in 2007, firefighters battling wildfires in the Coronado National Forest had to be accompanied by police officers.
For several years, the U.S. Forest Service has reported numerous accounts of encounters with heavily armed drug dealers approaching firefighters.
Mexican smugglers intent on crossing the U.S. border, have now begun to set fire to forests and fields along the border to distract U.S. Border Patrol Agents to make their crossing easier. These criminal invaders are also throwing Molotov cocktails at agents' vehicles as well as even setting fire to their observation posts. It is only a matter of time before these terrorist attacks result in the deaths of Border Patrol Agents and American civilians alike.

It just boggles the mind, HOW UTTERLY COWARDLY AND CORRUPT "WHITE" PEOPLE, OF EUROPEAN ANCESTRY,
(YOU KNOW, THE ONES WHO FOUGHT THE WARS AND SWEATED AND SPILLED THE BLOOD TO BUILD THIS NATION)ARE. They think nothing of foreign nationals, illegally in their nation, setting fires to their national parks and forests, and growing dope in their nation to sell to their children. WOW!! WOW!!
How can we allow the sick, unconcered, totally corrupt politicians(we know who they are in California) to get away with not doing a damn thing about this stuff. The borders are wide open, drug lords have free reign, and American youth and others cannot even enjoy the National Forests, that President Theodore Roosevelt, put aside for us over 100 years ago. Why not just turn over the U.S. to the leaders of Mexico? AMERICANS SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF THEMESELVES FOR ALLOWING THESE POLIITICIANS TO ABUSE THEM TO SUCH A DEGREE. Don't blame the illegal aliens, THE DEMOCRATIC ADMINISTRATION IS ALLOWING ALL OF IT.
p.s. Why do I mention "whites" as being especially grievious in their neglect of the criminality that is going on in regards to Mexico's drug dealers and illegal immigration. Because, let's be honest, most of the people in positions of power in the U.S. are still caucasian, have a history here, and are therefore to be judged all the more harshly, for everything going on.
As long as illegal immigration is good for the government who supplies cheap labor to businesses, it will never stop. If someday, in the future, we get a leader who thinks more of the people who elected him rather than illegal aliens and their supporters, maybe we can hope. Until then, the invasion will continue. Isn't it a wonderful feeling to know that a great country such as ours was not defeated by a nation who has a magnificient army, but by a corrupt and violent third world county whose criminals just walked in?
I think this article is a joke. I want some facts. I don't want some anecdotal account that draws some similar ties to what your trying to say. Little to sensational Mr Gibson.
Tell "Marijuana Prohibition" thank you the next time you see it.
We need to keep the black market for marijuana around. It creates jobs for law enforcement, lawyers, pharmaceutical companies, and alcohol companies.
Just think if we legalized marijuana. We would have to give up overtime, parties, and find a new hobby for most of the above mentioned. I VOTE to continue the American ignorance for marijuana and keep wasting my tax dollars!
Isn't that what we do best in the country? Burn California Burn... or fall into the ocean.
The N*gger has to make a comment.
Bobby: The governor of California is a republican. No one in the government is condoning or allowing this. The people to blame are those who grow the marijuana and start the fires. We should support law enforcement who are fighting these vicious people rather than blaming the police or government. Most illegal immigrants come here because they are hired to do cheap labor. It is against the law for people to hire illegal immigrants, but they are not prosecuted. The demand for mj fuels the invasion of our public lands--that's my land and I don't want it being used for drugs to sell to my kids.
Without demand for cheap labor or drugs--we wouldn't have these problems, so we have to hold the mirror up to ourselves. Is it really worth it?
You're all missing the point. If it were just made legal none of this would happen in the first place. The black market is what drives drug cartels to grow and sell weed. Making it legal would drastically drive the price down and would no longer be profitable enough for the cartels to deal with.
Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! waaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaah! De' mean ol' librals is pickin' on me agian! Waaaaaaaaaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaaah! Makes 'em stop! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! waaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Dey burnin' up alla treesus and stuff an' smokey bear aint got no place ta live! Waaaaaaaaaaaaah! Waaaaaaaaaaaah! Librals! Waaaaaaaaaaah! Dey' growin' dat dope! Waaaaaaaaaaaaah! waaaaaaaaaaaaah!
You are an idiot.
Mexican cartels are growing drugs because the American people have an appetite for them.
They are providing an commodity.
It's not a diversionary tactic you imbecile.
Thousands of grow operations, some outdoors--there are bound to be fires and problems.
It's mindless drones like yourself who do nothing to address the issue of prohibition and it's consequences.
Idiots like you supported prohibition of alcohol.
Idiots like you helped cement organized crime into our society by your unwavering stupidity of having the government try and regulate things you don't like.
Excuse me Lynn if I differ. When those people in power, are sworn to uphold the laws, protect the interests of the citizenry and do so in an honest manner, take a laizze faire attitude towards this kind of criminality, they are in violation of their oaths of office and need to be replaced.
What is it with some of you so-called "Americans"? Are some of you God forbid, parents?! Several people have posted here expressing the idea that our officials should somehow be excused along with the pot growers, BECAUSE OF THE FACT THAT THERE IS A DEMAND FOR MARIJUANA!! WHAT!! Are you people on dope? Is that it? I have heard this excuse before, that somehow it's the fault of Americans who take or smoke this stuff. How about the people that are hooked? How about the fact that being hooked is due to a physiological change in the brain? It is extremely naive to think that those type of people can as idiot Nancy Reagan used to say, just say no, or some other such mantra. With cocaine its even harder
After thought: Don't some of you people realize that these forests are taken care of and paid for by Americans past and present? Don't you realize these beautiful places belong to you? I have done my share of traveling and seen the forests of Europe, etc., but I can tell you, America's are more beautiful and varied. It blows me away that so many Americans take this stuff so lightly. You seem to have no sense of pride or even belonging to this wondrous nation. Sorry if it's too much to hear, but someone has to say it.
Nathan, every civilized nation in the world regulates certain things. They have to because of peoples natures. It has been established that since Ronald Reagan,(and I liked the guy) deregulated the airline industry, air accidents have dramatically increased do to the dangerous cost cutting that airlines have engaged in. I could give other examples, but don't be so down on all regulation. It just can't be safely avoided in some cases, because NO, the "market place" will not solve the problem.
Our wilderness areas require real protection. The time for half measures has come and gone. Let's tightly regulate these areas and keep capitalist drug traffickers and all others without a deep sense of what these areas represent off of public lands.
Thanks for the post, Dave. I have expanded on it at govforall.com
That's not very politically correct the use of "illegal alien" instead of "undocumented migrant". Good show!

If Mexico did not exist, if the border were hermetically sealed and there were no Mexicans in the USA whatsoever...the law of SUPPLY AND DEMAND dictates that the USA would still have a "drug problem".
Got something to say?
