A neighbor of the Cumming’s family alleges she heard Ronald Cummings being loud and abusive to his family.
Rivera also alleges that Misty Croslin, 17, Haleigh's father's girlfriend, indicated she was molested by her cousin when she was only 13-years-old.
Crystal Sheffield’s fiancé also relays he has been threatened by Ronald Cummings.

It is extremely sad at the possibility of Crystal and Haleigh suffering any abuse, but I don't understand why this is being brought up at this point. It is taking the focus off of this beautiful little girl. If these things happened, there is a time and a place to take care of it, and in my opinion, now is NOT the time! Keep Haleigh in the spotlight!!!
I agree Christina,the police should be the one to deal with the accusations of abuse and wrongdoing on behalf of Ronald Cummings. The focus is taken off of Haleigh when this drama is played out in the public eye. I think the families should stay focused on information pertaining to bringing this little girl home and not the problems between the mother and father. Ronald's employer already cleared him of being home at the time of the disapearance. The focus needs to be on the girlfriend and whoever was in that house when Haleigh disappeared. This is so sad. I just hope and pray that this little angel is brought home safe.

Ron Cummings is trying to hide a lot. As nieve as I am, I can see through the lines. It would be far better for him to tell the truth outright.
My gut feeling is - someone took Haleigh to give her a better home than what she had. The Dept. of Children and Family Services doesn't recommend spanking - as Mr. Cummings stated. In the past they didn't want you to put a hand to a child in any way - put them in a room alone, rather than harm a child that had already been deeply harmed.
I feel, when Haleigh is found, she will be removed her father's household - and maybe put into the grandparent's home.
I read in another article that the little brother says he saw a person dressed all in black take his sister. Not sure why he saw and the Misty did not...or is she just not telling the truth. If abuse of the Mother and daughter was going on before they separated then she may have gotten the shaft due to a lying husband in court. His actions have appeared fake to me and it is too coincidental that Misty did not notice the child missing untill Ron was pretty much in the driveway.
Oh dear...I was so hoping this girl would be found alive and well. If Haleigh's mother, Crystal, is telling the truth then I don't know what to believe. I believe I will pray. I'm not saying I believe Crystal, but she didn't say just Ron was doing drugs she told the truth and said she was too.
I think Crystal is up to her old tricks trying to get her children back.If you read the court records regarding custody of the children you will notice Crystal coundn't get Haleigh to her doctors appointments,had no job,is living with her parents and siblings,and no medical for the children.Both parents have some shadiness in their pasts but if you look at court records it's like she wants her kids but did nothing to get them Ron stepped up and became the parent she did nothing to have her kids and didn't even try to get them.Now she is bringing up crap instead of focusing on her missing daughter.Why would a mother who has a child missing be talking about all this stuff Now.She should focus on Haleigh.
What does any of this have to do with Haleigh.If these acusations were true why didn't Chystal present this in court.Read the court records its all hear say. She wasn't taking care of her children now she wants them because Haleigh was abducted.Give me a break.I wouldn't give her a dog.

Geraldo (bless his heart) may have pure intentions but he's dumber than a wicker basket. Usually it doesn't bother me (I just don't watch) but he's really irked me this time.
It's hard for a man to get custody of children in any town. Preference is always given to the mother. In small towns like Satsuma & Palatka, forget it. A judge obviously gave custody to Ronald Cummings for a reason. The whole "I was tricked & missed a court date" just reeks of bs. Bad Answer. She may not be responsible for Haleigh's disappearance, but she's certainly not helping. She needs a frickin gag order.
That said, I heard the 911 tape & it sounded genuine to me. Ronald Cummings doesn't strike me as the type to stage the brick in front of the door either.
As for screaming & hollering the neighbors heard...you should hear me when my cat does a flying leap & super slide across one of my shelves. While I appreciate his desire to excel in acrobatics, I've been known to lose it and scream "you dumb ~insert word here~"...Lord only knows what my neighbors think.
Misty, on the hand sounded scared(911 tape). She's 17 years old & lost a kid that was in her care. Only the police know what she said to them & what evidence there is and by all accounts, it appears that they're doing their jobs. She's a kid too. She may have screwed up, been negligent & withheld information, but she's not hiding a body.
Geraldo is out of line and he's got a lot of people that watch him. There's a good possibility that he's going to be responsible for pushing a flawed, but otherwise good, father over the edge. Satsuma needs to tell him to shut up & go away. Thanks, but no thanks.

Many of the words coming directly from Ron sound as though he knows who took her and why........in the drug world that is not uncommon that a dealer he owes money to would hold something although usually not a child......sorry I do not trust him and Misty is a kid.

I agree with Jodi about the drug world and how they will seek revenge. However is doesn't excuse Ron's gf from not telling what she really knows. I can see the fear in her eyes.She needs to be under protection of some kind. She is just a child herself and she is in bondage to this man. I've seen so many young girls get themselves in these situations because of learned ignorence.
I'm praying for her saftey as well as the child that was taken. Ron is a big bully and he was raised by all women.

crystal did not wait months misty called for help 27 mins after also ron was at work and i too do not but that chad is even a little afraid of him also why 12 days after haleigh is gone does this come out they had been on nancy grace every other day for almost two weeks and said nothing and know she says it was misunderstanding after a caleer brought it up what the heck. grow up and find haleigh.

I agree with what most are stating. I really don't see the point of the abuse allegations. This should have been used in Family Court not in the search to find this child. Proving this man to be abusive is in no way going to help these search efforts unless I'm missing something. Although if he was "really" abusive to his child he should have been punished to the full extent of the law. I'm guessing it made no difference until now though since no one pushed it.
As far as GERALDO and other news media are concerned. Why blame them? Appears to me as though these people are willingly standing there giving interviews. Just because the media hounds you doesn't mean you have to stand there and give them your life history. And yes they will hound and victimize reguardless but why help them on that quest.
Ultimately, I believe Geraldo's intent behind bringing into light the drug & abuse history of Ronald is to make sure that the whole story is made clear to all. Lifestyle in Haleigh's home should be considered so that is she is found alive, child services can investigate and place this child in the safest, best-suited environment for her. Her father has been seen backhanding her across her face so hard that she fell to the ground. His conduct toward Misty that is heard on the 911 tape is unacceptable. do not believe he is responsible for Haleigh's disappearance, no. But I do see an incredibly scary father from the perspactive of small children, and his drug past also concerns me.
It is commendable that Ron is putting forth all of his energy into finding his daughter, but ultimately the entire scenario of Haleigh's daily life was a recipe for disaster of one kind or another. I am a mom of 3 and can assure you that my abusive, drug-addict ex-husband would have NEVER had my children in his care, and Crystal knew Ron was abusive, yet appears perfectly fine with the fact that her little children were living with him in the conditions at hand. I hope that if the little girl is found alive, she and Junior are placed in stable, more structured environment.
Doesn't anyone else see the significance of how Ronald and his entire family conducted themselves when Geraldo simply questioned Ron about the allegations made against him? Why not just answer the questions and clear it up? Ron seems to have trouble making any eye contact and has a hair-trigger temper. I know many many men just like him. They are very verbally abusive and often physically as well. Geraldo may want the social workers to take notice of how unhealthy this is for a child, maybe Junior needs to be removed from his custody. Being raised by a man much like Ron Cummings myself, I assure you it is hell.
How certain are the authorities that Misty's cousin in Tennessee had nothing to do with Haleigh's disappearance?? I find it too convenient that he was in the area and left the night she went missing. I still suspect his involvement and think it's possible that there simply isn't enough evidence to arrest him. I have a theory that he did take her and could have disposed of her ANYWHERE between Florida and Tennessee!!
K. guys....Ron's GF Misty is 17. Not an adult she is a child herself. It kills me how in these situations everyone wants to find the female involved and lash her. However, statistically there are so many more fathers/stepfathers who kill children. For every Susan Smith there are probably 5 murdering men.

Perhaps Ron got custody because Crystal was scared for her life and the lives of her children. Many abusive men threaten not only the lives of the woman leaving but also the children. Abuse is very relevant to this case.
People keep making references to "in the drug world" like there's any proof that Ronald is still "in the drug world". His drug charges are over seven years ago, also there's suspicion that Crystal actually has much more recent drug abuse, also, Crystal's father has a violent past, and her mother also has a past criminal record due to drugs. Maybe they made someone mad. I think Ronald is being vilified. There are NO CPS reports, police reports, school reports, or doctors reports to suggest abuse! The only "witnesses" to this alleged abuse are both family close members of Crystals, No abuse was ever reported by Haleigh's mother...where are the police reports people? Give me a break! Not all men are wife beaters just because some angry, vindictive, drug addicted ex says they are! Crystal needs to take her lies and go on Jerry Springer with her step-brother/baby daddy. Suspicion, while I agree with you on many things you say, and I'm sorry that your Dad and Ex-husband abused you, not all men are your Dad and Ex-husband and you seem to mention that a lot. Some victims of abuse tend to relate their abuse to "all men" and that's not fair. Sam, if I was afraid for the life of myself and my children the LAST thing I would EVER do is leave them with an abusive man and move 90 miles away!!!! The truth is that there is no proof there was EVER any abuse, or even any REAL allegations of abuse. It just goes to show how many people out there are not only man haters, but also really discriminate against low-income people. That's what this is really about, the fact that people see someone on TV who has a past with drugs (from before his daughter was ever even born), he lives in trailer house, he's obviously low-income, single dad (which I believe most people don't like to see a dad win custody) and the mother claims past abuse with NO proof and everyone wants to burn the father at the stake. Him being a wonderfully loving grieving father just doesn't fit into their stereo type, they're much more comfortable with him being a villain , yeah let's make him the villain. If Ronald is truely the "abuser" then why hasn't he came out and attacked Crystal for neglecting Haleigh and Haleigh nearly drowning in a body of water while with her mother, or how about for Crystal not showing up for court for custody, or how about for HER past drug charges and drug problems? Maybe he's not the abuser after all. Do you see how some of you took Crystals claim of Ronald kicking her in her back and slapping Haleigh and turned it into "maybe she was so afraid for her life, maybe she thought he was gonna kill her or her children so she fled"? She didn't say that!! You're turning him into a monster!!
Also, if there were any drugs or paraphernaial in the house the police would have found them when they turned the house into a crime scene. Another reason not believe everything Crystal and her family say.

I just want to say Misty being 17 does not make her incapable of caring for children. My sister had a baby at 17 and was a fine mother. I have known many people that had children young and handled it just well. As far as him being an adult and her being a teen, I have seen that scenario a LOT especially in small towns and low income areas. They were still human and loving couples and some teens are grown well before their time. Especially these days. You can't generalize with everyone everywhere people. Everyone should quit trying to play detective. The truth will come out. Sit back and see if your judgements are justified.

Misty is haleighs mother due to the fact she may not have gave birth to these children she has raised them...
at the age of 16 the courts can charge you as an adult and age doesn't matter...

Oh he is so guilty. Watch his demeanor. How he sheild himself with his right arm and wear dark glasses on camera. His actions with the door and walking off and leaving Misty behind speak volumes. I bet the police find a crack in his timeline soon. I really think he did this.
I understand that Crystal is engaged. Where is her boyfriend? Has he been cleared?, also she is unemployed and was being evicted from her appartment and someone rented the Haliegh Bug House for her. Who is paying that rent. (*I have a funny feeling that Crystal and her boyfriend are involved in Haliegh's disapperance), maybe he took Haliegh, she knows him and would probally not cry. Now Crystal is going for Jr. and they probally have plans to leave the area without any conquiences. I also wish the media would leave Misty and Ron alone. I also married a man 10 years my senior when I was 17 and we have been married 36 years and if the kids was calling Misty step-mom then this wedding was not spur of the moment and I am sure they needed each others bond to help them get through this tragedy.
