Lee is just ss much of a double-talker as Casey. In the past I mistakenly thought that Lee had some substance and depth and common sense, but the more he reveals himself the more shallow and stupid he seems. Inappropriate timing on his laughter just makes him come across as a hick-dufus.
Lee has done an excellent job of helping the prosecution case against Casey. Like Casey, he is so narcissistic, I don't think he realized just how badly he was hurting the defense in this case.
Here is the part that makes no sense whatsoever....if somebody warned you not to go to the authorities because they had stolen your child would you give their real name and a fictitious location? That is what Lee said that she gave the name Zenaida Fernandez Gondalez in both scenarios but he thought the Jay Blanchard Park location was the real event. What part is that holding back from the authorities...if I don't tell them the real location and give just the name the police can't intervene? If you give up the name you may as well give up the location because you have already told something somebody wanted you to keep quiet. Lee is in denial and he cannot possibly miss the logic of this.
Lee says that hearing the Jay Blanchard Park story from his sister for the first time wasn't a "blockbuster," and he may have waited until the next morning to tell his mother -- didn't tell his father. Apart from all the other reasons the new story was significant, it was a story that included the promise that Caylee would be returned after a certain time!!! That wasn't important??? He has no credibility . . . or maybe he thought the story was such a ridiculous lie that it wasn't worth passing on to his father!
My first thought after seeing parts of Lee's deposition on the news was he had something to hide and his laughter was a sign of some sort of guilt. However, after listening to his entire deposition I realize that his laughter was keeping him from being sarcastic when the attorney was being a smartass or made a mistake in his wording. I feel that 75% of the questions pertained to the criminal case not the civil case. Therefore, in my opinion the attorney was lucky to get any answers at all. The attorney said several times that these questions were relevant. If he could prove who murdered Caylee it would free his client. If that is how he feels then the civil case should have been postponed untill after the criminal case. I think anyone being asked crimal queations in a civil case would have acted the same or worse. Maybe if Lee had been asked only questions pertaining to the civil case his actions would have been different.
