Somer Thompson, 7, disappeared on Monday afternoon during a walk home from school with her sisters and friends.
After getting in an argument with another child, she became upset, and walked ahead of the group. She was not seen alive again.

Early Thursday, investigators found her lifeless body at a Georgia landfill and are now on an intensive search for her killer.

This story is so sad. I cannot help but fell angered and sad at the situation, and I am only a teenager. No child should be found in a landfill. Ever. I give my condolences to the mother and family.
Somer, you are not on this world anymore, but many peoples are here missing you always. I can't do anything to help but I just praised for you.
Damn it!This is why I keep saying don't let your kids walk ANYWHERE! alone! When are these parents going to understand that?! Don't think that it can't happen to your child, because it can. And here's proof that it can. Get off your butts and drive your kids to their friends house or walk with them. This really makes me mad. I'm really surprised she wasn't missing from FL like all the other kids.
Today I saw 2 kids less then 7 yrs old in a Restaurant washroom with out the parents. I asked them where are your parents and I went over to their table and I told the Mother off.
I was 7 yrs old when I saw a man in a theater washroom waiting behind the door to get me. Since then I look after my family.
Now I am 57 and still listening to the same stories.
Please look after your kids there is a lot of sick people out there.

May God help us all especially the sweet, innocent children with horrible predators out there like this hanous person. My heart is with the entire family and I shutter to think how scared that baby was in those moments. God...hold her near and her family, and a swift dicovery of the monster who did this!!!! To all parents with children,please do not allow your children out there alone,have a adult with them as much as you can.There are to many sick people out there.
I would live my life differently - raising my children. I had enough trouble with relatives trying to mess up my supervision and routines of my children. *** I would stay home. Kids would not go far from home. I'd have been divorced sooner.
*** A law that might children to be safe when walking home from school: *** A sex offender isn't allowed to live within a mile of a school, so why is he allowed to work within a mile of a school? On a path children walk home on every day yet. They should not be allowed to live, visit, drive or walk through, or work within one mile of any school.
THIS HAS TO STOP! America NEEDS to make CHANGES now! We need to protect our children from SICK, TWISTED, EVIL hands. there should be a harsher punishment for sexual affenders....needs to be harsher, to motivate these monsters not to harm our angels. Children have the right and ability to be our next heros... let us help them get there. Let us be their VOICES NOW. not tomorrow, not next week... this isnt just a child...... this is everyones child. If you want to stand up for our children and make a change email me.. and LETS FIND A WAY. Wheather its something through our laws or something we promotethrough the media...lets make change.

I have a cousin in flordia who was somer thompsons BEST friend. I think it is sick and twisted for jared harrle to do this. May Somer rest in peace
I still can't believe all of these things going on here in Jacksonville. Parents killing kids, parents kidnapping other kids, kids and well aware teenagers getting killed on their way home from school. It's so sad and I just don't understand what could make a person do something like this, or even look at child pornography. How does a brain of a human being like that operate? I don't understand. I'm pregnant and I am so scared to bring a child into this city, well, this world. It's absolutely horrible. I will never let my child out of my sight unless I Know they are safe and they may never understand it like me when I was younger, but I do pray that they will not have to worry about these things when they have children. There is no law you can make to stop this from happening, but my goodness I wish there was. I can't imagine this happening to my family, and to Somer's and every other child's family that this situation has happened to, my condolences are with you, you are in my prayers
Why in God's name does this Country continue to release these dredges of society back out into the street over and over? Someone needs to get a set of brass and realize that the only cure for pedophillia is "HIGH SPEED LEAD THERAPY." This country condones such behavior and ALLOWS it to happen. There is NO cure or amount of therapy that will change what they ARE and WILL ALWAYS BE...A SICKO. Criminals do more time in jail for smoking pot than most of those praying on our children. The punishment should fit the crime. This is the reason that prisons and jails are overcrowded, they are holding the wrong ones and releasing the most serious offenders back out to walk among our children!! Oh, yeah and "hey don't forget to check in and be sure and register yourself as a sex offender." My God, come on people, "let me stop preying on this child for a minute and go register." IF THEY WEREN'T RELEASED THERE WOULD BE NO NEED TO WONDER WHERE THE HELL THEY ARE CRAWLING AROUND!!
