A neighbor of the sex offender accused of kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard in 1991 has come forward with a troubling story. Mike Rogers detailed strange parties and goings on in the backyard of Phillip Garrido, where the girl and her two daughters—fathered by Garrido—were held captive.
The Antioch builder told the Daily Mail that Garrido made crystal meth using household utensils and frequently invited “perverts” to his home to regale in drugs, sex and drinking. Rogers went so far as to call the Garrido home a brothel.
On one occasion, Rogers said he watched a group of men carrying crates of beer, enter the Garrido backyard. He told the Mail they lit bonfires, played music, shouted, and laughed into the early morning hours.
A disturbing detail in Rogers' story is that the men would take turns entering a tent in Garrido’s backyard. “I saw them bobbing up and down and I thought, ‘My God, there is something sexual going on in there,’” recounted Rogers.
He claims to have peeked through a crack in the fence and saw the men “…drinking beer and smashing the bottles on the ground. I thought they had a prostitute or something in there. I thought it might have been some kind of sex party or something. It happened quite often. They were different men each time.”
Rogers noted that when a man would exit the tent, he was given a high-five by the others.
He said he discussed the matter with his brother, Dean, who also lives in the neighborhood. Rogers said they agreed not to contact police explaining, “People don’t even waive to each other or say hello here. You just pay no attention to what is going on with other people. That way, you don’t get shot.”
He now agonizes over that decision and worries that Garrido may have been pimping out Jaycee and her young daughters to strangers. “I hope to God not,” said Dean Rogers.
Garrido and his wife, Nancy, who is accused of helping him kidnap and perpetuate crimes against Jaycee, have both pleaded not guilty to 29 felony counts, including kidnapping, raping, and holding Jaycee captive for 18 years.

Rogers sure spent a lot of time sneaking and peeking through a fence to know so much and not to have reported it, even knowing that meth was being made. I don't buy this guys BS reason for not contacting the police. I think he was a peeker for more reasons than one.
what has already been established by news reports is that the Garridos lived in an area heavily populated with registered sex offenders (probably like looking for a needle in a haystack, but Phillip Garrido was already known in his neighborhood as "crazy Phil"), and yet Garrido was recently arrested after a security guard at Berkeley (not in Antioch) reported him for suspicious behavior.
getting back to Rogers not contacting the police) reporting crime in your own neighborhood has to be handled urgently and very competently. nobody with any brains wants to lose their life trying to do the right thing in a sloppy manner, and Phillip Garrido has repeatedly proven that he is a highly dangerous individual.
i think if society is to blame for anything related to this case it is this, that many people need to grow some balls and know how to report crime competently without endangering ourselves; that way, it just comes down to the Individual vs. the State in a court of law.
Don't forget that the police WERE called over there several times and DID NOT even bothered to come into the house or even checked what was going on in the backyard when they had the chance. Have you forgotten already that the county sheriff himself publicly stated that his officers should have done their jobs. You want to blame somebody, blame the stupid cops who didn't do their jobs (they deserved to be fired for their incompetence), the parole board who paroled him after only 11 years in a supposed to be 50 year sentence, and of course, the judge who sentenced him who decided to add the parole chances to that sentence. If it were me in that jugde's shoes, I would have sentenced him or anyone else regardless of race, skin color, age, income, gender, or whetever to life in prison without parole. Maybe it's time the American public should put pressure on this corrupted court system and the police and tell them to cut the BS and do better from now on or get out once and for all.
Every time my mind gone disturbed when I read about this news. I mean is this really happened here, in the U.S.? If this have happened in Asian country, we understand because there is a lot of corruption in all departments in many countries in Asia.
If this guy will slip from the specific punishments, more and more Garridos will born and more and more Jaycees will suffer. In my opinion, the correct punishment for this kind of bastard is cut down his dick without any surgery technic and then send him to prison for a life. And never leave him on parole. Because 18 years are not just 18 hours or 18 days. What kind of creature does this kind of thing? I mean she was only 11 years, just a kid, not even teen. I am damn sure that not even any animal of the earth does this kind of thing to a kid. And his whore wife was supporting his husband to do this such sins. These days when my daughter goes only a moment or two out of my eyes site, I get worried because of these bastards.
