Singer, Chris Brown, 19, was arrested early Sunday after a physical altercation with his superstar girlfriend, Rihanna, 20, who suffered two large contusions on her face, a bloody nose and a split lip. There were also reports of Rihanna having bite marks on her body.
Rihanna told authorities that Brown threatened to kill her and choked her until she lost consciousness. Witnesses heard Rihanna screaming and called 911.
The LA Times Blog reports there has been speculation around the cause of the argument between Brown and Rihanna, which may have involved Paris Hilton.
Witnesses reported the couple began fighting after leaving Clive Davis' pre-Grammy bash on Saturday night. According to OK! Magazine, Paris and Brown were seen at a Timbaland Grammy party together. The witness told OK, "He and Paris went outside together. Paris was all over him. Rihanna caught wind of it and spent the rest of the night glued to him."

Celebrity News Examiner, Liz Barrett reports there is also speculation that the argument started after Brown "received a text message from a woman about hooking up later," while he was with Rihanna.
No matter what the cause of the spat, domestic violence is never warranted.
As the Seattle Eastside Parenting Examiner put it, "This sad story highlights abusive relationships. Since Brown is 19 and Rihanna is 20, their story is particularly interesting to teens... This is an excellent time to talk to your teen about abusive relationships."
