On Thursday, authorities continued their exhaustive search for Newburgh, NY 4-year-old, Marc Bookal.
K-9 units were used, along with two SCUBA teams that searched the Hudson River for clues.
The Hudson search began on Wednesday, with the focus being on the area along the waterway.
Trooper Kevin Gardner of the Kingston barracks said “We came down with our boat to check the shoreline south of Gully’s in Newburgh with the cadaver dog to see if we could get a scent on anything. It proved negative… We went down river about a quarter mile.”
Bloodhounds from the Westchester Department of Public Safety were also used and have focused over the past few days on the home of the little boy.
Cory Byrd, the boyfriend of Marc’s mother, Christina Bookal, was alone with the boy on Monday afternoon when the boy disappeared. Byrd told police the boy walked out the front door as the two were getting ready to leave the apartment and meet with relatives.
Byrd has a history of violence, and served five years behind bars for an attack on an 18-year-old man in 2002. The victim, who requested to remain unnamed, described Byrd as a “vicious animal.” To read more about that crime, click here.
Marc is described as a light-skinned African American male, who has blotches on the back of his hands. He has medium-length brown hair that is worn in an Afro. Marc has brown eyes, is 3-foot-5, and weighs about 42 pounds. He was last seen wearing a red long-sleeved shirt, grey sweatpants, and white Nike sneakers.
