Experts say Lindsey Baum likely abducted by someone she knew

Lindsey Baum

The FBI has now joined in the search for 10-year-old Lindsey Baum who disappeared on a 10-minute walk home on Friday night.

A second person came forward on Wednesday to report having seen Lindsey on her walk home from a friend’s house.

Experts working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children said that if Lindsey was abducted, it was likely by someone she knew. Henry Schmidt with the organization said, “From what knowledge we have and the information that I have that it’s someone that she possibly knows, somebody that is in the area.”

The FBI is asking Lindsey’s neighbors to try and remember if anyone was acting suspicious in the area on Friday night. They are also looking for information regarding anyone who might began engaging in strange behavior, such as selling a vehicle for no reason, not showing up for work, or changing their appearance.

Ron Twersky, FBI assistant special agent in charge said, “We’re certainly not looking for a witch hunt or anything of that sort, but the bottom line is we have a missing girl. And so anyone who is in this area is going to be someone we want to talk to.”

Komo News is reporting that Lindsey’s mother voluntarily took a polygraph test, along with the father of Lindsey’s best friend, Scott Williams.

“At their requests, polygraphs were given to them. They passed those polygraphs. We’re comfortable with the information they’ve shared with us and comfortable with the timeline they’ve explained,” said Grays Harbor County Undersheriff Rick Scott.

Lindsey has brown hair and brown eyes, is 4’9” tall, 80 lbs., and was last seen wearing a light blue hooded pullover shirt and blue jeans.

If you have information regarding Lindsey, call the Grays Harbor Sheriff Office at 1-866-915-8299 or send an email to soadmin@co.grays-harbor.wa.us.

    Poor little Lindsey.

How could they let her walk alone at night? There are wild unleashed dogs, snakes, drunk drivers...

I wonder if any of the older friends of the family knew she walked home alone that visited the home in the past.

@Friday. It's a small town of around 1500 folks. She disappeared within two blocks from her home and it was not yet dark outside.

Let's please be aware that a family is grieving a missing child, a town missing a community member, young children missing best friends, and somewhere is a small girl trying to find her way home.
