An entomologist is currently examining bug evidence to determine times of death of the bodies found in the Cleveland home of suspected serial killer, Anthony Sowell.
To date, 9 of the 11 bodies found have been identified as Tonia Carmichael, 52; Telacia Fortson, 31; Tishana Culver, 31; Nancy Cobbs, 43; Amelda Hunter, 47; Crystal Dozier, 38; Michelle Mason, 45; Janice Webb, 48; and Kim Yvette Smith, 44.
Joe Keiper, from the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, was enlisted by the coroner to analyze the types and number of insects found on the remains. According to Fox News, he arrived at the Imperial Avenue home on Oct. 30 with glass vials and surgical tweezers in his fishing tackle box in order to gather relevant specimens.
Keiper told The Plain Dealer that he is hopeful the “bug evidence” will be useful.
In the meantime, the FBI plans to use thermal imaging in Sowell’s home to determine if more evidence is present, while authorities intend to search the next door neighbor’s home as well.
