Pets Found Buried in L.I Woman's Yard

A Long Island woman stands accused of killing animals and disposing their remains in her backyard.

Sharon McDonough, 43, of Selden has been charged with animal cruelty. The remains of at least twenty animals were found in her backyard. She has been arraigned and released.

It is believed the remains are those of her neighbor's pets who had vanished from the neighborhood.

It has been reported that McDonough also involved her young children in the torture and killing of the animals.

The organization, Rescue Ink, got a call on their tip line saying that McDonough was abusing animals in her home.

Rescue Ink members then went to the home, where they found malnourished dogs being kept in cages. The members then reported the conditions to authorities, who found the animal remains in the backyard.

The dogs, as well as other animals kept in the home, have been removed from the premises.
