Detroit police are searching for a green Ford Escort in the wake of a hit and run accident that took a party-goer's life. The dead man, whose identity has yet to be released, left a party on Robson Street near Glendale on Detroit's northwest side, at approximately 3:30 AM Sunday morning. Witnesses claimed that the man paused in front of a parked car, waiting to cross the street when the escort 'swerved' and struck him. The driver of the escort then left the scene.
Witnesses further claim that the man was not responsive after being struck. He was taken to a nearby hospital where he soon died, apparently never regaining consciousness.
Anyone having information that might bear on the identity of the hit-and-run driver is encouraged to call the Detroit Police.
