Terrorist plot foiled by FBI in Dallas

Kaufman County Crime Examiner
According to a Fox 4 News report in Dallas, Texas, a would be terrorist bomber was arrested this afternoon by the F.B.I. The 19 year old man, Mosam Maher Husein Smadi who is a Jordanian citizen, was arrested by the F.B.I. and charged with attempting to use a weapon of mass destruction. He told agents he wanted to commit "violent jihad".
His target was the Fountain Place, a 60-story glass office tower located at 1445 Ross Avenue. This is one of the most well known and visible buildings in downtown Dallas. According to Fox News, the man is in the United States illegally. He was introduced to people he thought were fellow Al-Qaeda members in his attempt to obtain bomb material. The men he spoke with were actually working for the F.B.I. For the whole story, please see the Fox 4 News website here.
This was a legitimate terrorist plot to do harm to American citizens right here in Dallas. This man believed he left a car full of explosives at this building. Thankfully the F.B.I. made sure that his bomb was inactive and that he would not be able to carry out his murderous plan.
I wrote a recent article about having an emergency plan for your family in case of terrorist attack or natural disasters. You can see it here, it seems an emergency plan is a necessity, not a luxury now.

So great, Sherri! Thank you..:)
Why didn't I hear this on the news?
Betty, he was arrested this afternoon..my guess is it will make National news by tomorrow..but that's why I wanted to let people know about it today! Scarey stuff!
Yes, pretty scary.
Thanks for this Sherri...with the recent arrests in New York City of members of a terrorist ring, it's important to be reminded that these people are still out there and still plotting. I'm grateful to the FBI for helping to keep us safe!
Great story, Sherri. Hubby was working an off duty job just down the street there today and had no clue. Thank you for this report.
Wow...scary, good thing they stopped this.
So glad it was foiled. I wonder how many of these plots are foiled?
Yikes! So glad they caught the guy!
It sounds weird that they would know everything he wanted to do and there was only one kid doing it.. then in Iowa or wherever there were more arrested for basically the same thing.. It just doesnt add up to me.... He was a kid and there has to be more to the story that there not telling us....
First I heard of this!
I'm glad this was stopped. Great reporting, Sherri.
Way to go Feds! (And nice article!)
The FBI seems to be doing a great job! Great report, too. I hadn't heard of this, so thanks for keeping me informed!
Why was this guy given a visa to enter the United States?
Josiah, from what I understand, he was originally here on a student visa..it expired and he stayed illegally.
How scary! Glad it was foiled, and no one was hurt! Great (and timely!) report Sherri!
Great reporting.
I'm so glad he was stopped.
