A Northwest side woman is charged with the ongoing physical and sexual abuse of young female family member, according to Chicago police.
Maria Flores, 29, of the 2300 block of North Meade Avenue, is charged with predatory criminal sexual assault, aggravated battery of a child, domestic battery causing bodily harm and endangering the life of a child.
The child told someone at her school about the alleged abuse and Flores was arrested Thursday. Charges weren't filed until today, police say.
The Chicago Tribune reports the child is in DCFS custody and four other children in the household are in the care of relatives.
