Wisconsin woman calls 911 to report herself for driving drunk ( audio of 911 call)

You have to give her credit for being honest.

The Associated Press reports a WIsconsin woman is charged with misdemeanor drunk driving after she called police to report herself.

Mary Strey, 49, of Granton made a 9-1-1 call October 24th and told the dispatcher someone really drunk was driving down the road near the town of Neilsville in Central Wisconsin.

When the dispatcher asked her if she was following the drunk driver she confessed "I am them." She then followed the dispatcher's instructions to stop driving and turn on her flashers so police could come and get her. They did. She's in court December 10.

I almost did this after taking acid once (and only once). I was lucky enough to not kill somebody or myself or both. I wish I had called the cops on myself the night I got drunk and rooled my truck. A night in jail and a fine would have been way easier on me than the triplr rollover and broken neck i got instead.

I think this was great. Obviously a cry for help. Alcoholism is a terrible addiction and it can cause a lot of havok both in your personal/professionl life and in your body. I hope the court take into consideration that this poor lady is partially a victim.
