Police say they now know who is responsible for the hit and run death of 25-year-old Rachel Gilliam but they need the public's help actually finding him.
The suspect is Carlos Castillo. He's 23, 5'07" and 200 lbs. His last known address was on the 2600 block of West Jarlath.
Police say he was driving the car that hit and killed Gilliam as she attempted of flag down a cab in the 4300 block of North Lincoln on November 1.
It was 3:30 a.m. and Gilliam (See photos below) had just left her job at Bowman's Bar and Grill following a busy night serving Halloween revelers. Witnesses report that a silver Acura hit Gilliam and then sped away south on Lincoln.
Susan Carlson, a private investigator hired by the family, said police have been in custody of the Acura for some time but just got back a report from the state crime lab that positively links the car and Castillo to other evidence found at the scene.
Police say it's possible Castillo has fled the area. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call the Major Accident Investigation Unit at 312 745-4521.
