Police are putting out a public call for help to solve the murder of a 16-year-old boy in Lawndale last night.
Police-issued flyers are being distributed, asking people to come forward with information on the shooting death of Sherrell Williamson. An 18-year-old youth and another man in his 20s were seriously injured in the same shooting.
What police know so far is that at 11:30 p.m., a dark colored vehicle pulled up alongside of the car Sherrell and the others were sitting in on the 1500 block of South Christiana. Someone in the dark vehicle fired on Sherrell and his companions. Sherrell was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
Sherrell was a sophomore at Phillips Academy High School.
