Walter E. Ellis
Authorities say they are doing DNA testing on an additional 20 cases of strangled prostitutes in Milwaukee to see if those cases can by tied to the man already suspected in nine slayings.
Walter E. Ellis, 49, is so far charged with seven killings women over the course of 21 years. He was charged with two murders on on Monday and five more yesterday.
Police say his DNA was found on two other women but Milwaukee County District Attorney John Chisholm tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel "We do not feel at this time that we can meet our requisite burden of proof on those cases."
Ellis is an unemployed factory worker. Police say he strangled prostitutes in Milwaukee between 1986 and 2007.
