A convicted child sex offender is arrested and charged with sexual assault and robbery for an attack on a mother and daughter last night.
Albert Robinson, 37, of the 11100 block of South Vernon Avenue is charged with two counts of armed robbery and one count of aggravated sexual assault. Police say he robbed both victims at gunpoint and then sexually assaulted one of them.
The victims flagged down officers at about 11:30 p.m. on the 1000 block of South State Street near where the attack occurred. Police were taking the victims to the hospital when they saw Robinson walking and identified him as the gunman.
Robinson was arrested after a short foot chase and property belonging to the victims was recovered, according to police.
The Chicago Tribune reports Robinson sentenced to prison in 1991 for sexual assault and was released in July.
