Four police officers from the Lakewood police department in Washington state were memorialized yesterday, 9 days after they were shot and killed by Maurice Clemmons as they sat in a coffee shop.
The Associated Press reports 2,000 police and fire vehicles from 150 different agencies joined in an honor procession to the Tacoma Dome where an estimated 20,000 people attended the memorial service for the officers.
The officers who died are:
- Officer Tina Griswold, 40, survived by a husband and two children
- Officer Ronald Owens, 37, survived by a former wife and a daughter
- Sgt. Mark Renninger, 39, survived by a wife and three children
- Officer Greg Richards, 42, survived by a wife and three children
