The Atlanta Police Department Bomb squad is investigating a suspicious device found at the Hartsfield Jackson International Airport. The bottom level terminal was shut down while emergency personnel investigations continued.
Spokesman for the Police, Otis Redmond says the package belong to a retired pilot was found in a piece of luggage found at a curb side check in area on Monday morning. Police say the device appeared to be a pipe with a flare inside of it. Authorities said the retired pilot said it was part of an equipment package he takes with him when he flies his own plane. Police confirmed that the device had been destroyed.
